Learning of the Taggarts' financial problems, he robs the crooked Faro Black to retrieve Bob Taggart's IOU's. Escaping from Faro's men he meets another outlaw who directs him to the missing Sheriff. This is the man that Jack supposedly killed. But when he finds him, Faro and his men arrive and he is captured.
